Ingredients;
200 gram self rising flour
150 gram butter (or sunflower oil)
150 gram sugar
3 eggs
milk 50 ml (half coffee cup)
sultana's 1 coffee cup
cake form or muffin forms (oiled & floured)

mix all things, without the sultana's, together till a smooth thick batter
add sultana's and stir through the batter
fill the cake form or muffin forms
bake in the middle of the oven for 1,5 hour on 160 degrees
let the cake cool down in the form in the oven
after a while on a grid outside the oven
before you serve pour Guinness beer on top, the spongy cake will suck it up easely

Strictly speaking, Guinness is a stout which is related to Porter which is a style of beer, specifically an Ale. I'll drink Guinness, but it's a bit low on the alcohol content and is a bit flat for my tastes. I recently made a batch of Russian Imperial Stout which put any glass of Guinness to shame. Let it age for about 6 months in secondary and it was absolutely delicious. It was VERY strong (hence Imperial). Like 2 pints put me on my ass.
